Marcus W. Kroll

Marcus W. Kroll is a Rochester native, an associate in the firm, and a member of the Family Wealth and Estate Planning Department. He concentrates his practice in estate planning and administration, long term care planning, elder law and Medicaid qualification, special needs planning, adoptions and guardianships for incapacitated persons.
Marcus has unique experience in planning for lesbian and gay clients in same-sex relationships and marriages who spend time in states which do not recognize their relationship, navigating the conflicting New York and Federal laws regarding LGBT couples, dealing with planning issues that arise from second marriages, and litigating contested guardianships.
Marcus serves on the Rochester Area Community Foundation Professional Advisors Liaison Committee and the Rochester Area Community Foundation LGBT Giving Circle Steering Committee. He is a board member of the local chapters of the Sports Car Club of America and the BMW Club of America. He serves on the board of the ImageOut Film Festival and acts as counsel for the Gay Alliance of the Genesee Valley. He is an avid networker and a member of a local BNI chapter.
Mr. Kroll is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. He is a certified Guardian Ad Litem, Article 81 Guardian, Court Evaluator, Attorney for Alleged Incapacitated Persons, and Law Guardian/Attorney for the Child.
Marcus is a member of the New York State Bar Association and Monroe County Bar Association where he is a member of the LGBT committee. He is a frequent lecturer on timely and diverse topics, including speaking engagements with various community and advisor organizations along with accredited professional continuing education programs.
He lives in Pittsford with his wife, son, daughter, and cats. He is a life-long martial artist, world traveler, automobile enthusiast and race car driver.
