Marcus is active in many LGBT organizations, including serving as pro-bono attorney for the Board of the Gay Alliance of the Genesee Valley, a board member for the ImageOut Film Festival, a Council Member for Out & Equal New York Finger Lakes Workplace Advocates, and an annual member of the Empire State Pride Agenda Spring Dinner Committee. He is an active participant in local chapters of the PCA, BMWCCA, and SCCA. He also provides pro-bono legal services for the Bushido-Kai Judo Club and serves on the Board for the Easter Seals New York Western Region. He is an avid networker and a member of a local BNI chapter, Success Unlimited.

He lives in Pittsford with his wife, son, daughter, and cats. He is a life-long martial artist, world traveler, automobile enthusiast and race car driver.
