At a Glance:

Greta K. Kolcon is a Partner in the firm's Litigation and Labor & Employment Departments and is the Chair of the Environmental and Litigation Practice Group.  She concentrates her practice on business related civil litigation in state and federal courts, and arbitration forums.

Ms. Kolcon received her J.D. degree cum laude from Stetson University College of Law, where she served on the Stetson Law Review. She received her B.A. with honors from the University of Michigan. In 2002, Ms. Kolcon was recognized by The Daily Record as one of Rochester’s “Up and Coming Attorneys”, an award which recognized outstanding attorneys in practice less than ten years.

Representative Matters:

  • Regularly defend energy company in litigation involving claims of environmental contamination under New York’s Navigation Law, as well as RCRA and other claims.
  • Regularly defend residential landlords against claims of lead paint poisoning allegedly suffered by tenants and others.
  • Regularly defend employment discrimination claims and other workplace-related claims against employers.
  • Defend and prosecute claims against fiduciaries of employee retirement plans, such as trustees and investment managers.
  • Litigate enforcement of shareholder agreements in connection with buyouts and separations from business enterprise.

Community Involvement:

Ms. Kolcon serves as Trustee for the Historical Society of the Courts of the State of New York.  She is past Vice President and Council Member for the Lutheran Church of the Incarnate Word and is actively involved in a variety of local community organizations. 

Bar Admissions:

She is admitted to practice in New York State, as well as in the United States District Courts for the Western and Northern Districts of New York and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Professional Affiliations:

Ms. Kolcon serves as the immediate past President of the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys (GRAWA).  She is a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors for the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY).  Ms. Kolcon is also an active member of the Monroe County, and New York State Bar Associations, as well as the Rochester Women's Network and the Women’s Council of the Rochester Business Alliance.
