At a Glance:

Wende J. Knapp is an associate in the firm’s Litigation and Labor and Employment Departments where she concentrates her practice in civil, general business and labor and employment litigation matters. 

Ms. Knapp received her J.D. degree, with a civil litigation concentration, from the University at Buffalo Law School.  She was editor-in-chief of the Buffalo Intellectual Property Law Journal and a member of UB’s Wechsler Moot Court Competition team – where she received the “Best Oralist” designation within the school.  Ms. Knapp received the 2010 ABA/BNA Award of Excellence in the Study of Intellectual Property and was also awarded the Joseph P. Peperone Memorial Scholarship.  She received her B.A. from Canisius College and her M.A. from Seton Hall University. 

In November 2011, Ms. Knapp received the Rochester Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 Award. The award recognizes professionals under 40 who demonstrate leadership in the workplace and the community.

Community Involvement:

Ms. Knapp is currently serving as a member of the Rochester UB Law Alumni Steering Committee.  She also volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, Wilson Commencement Park, and Camp Good Days and Special Times.

Bar Admissions:

Ms. Knapp is admitted to practice in New York State.

Professional Affiliations:

Ms. Knapp is a member of the New York State and Monroe County Bar Associations where she is also a member of both Associations’ Young Lawyers Sections.  She is also a member of the Greater Rochester Association of Women Attorneys.  Ms. Knapp also serves on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Council of the Rochester Business Alliance where she is a member of the Young Women of Distinction scholarship award and Programs committees.
