Thank you for your interest in Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP.
Our Web site is not
intended to and does not create an attorney-client relationship between you
and Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP. The only way to become our client is by
specific and explicit agreement with an individual attorney at Woods Oviatt
Gilman LLP. Sending us an e-mail message will not make you a client of Woods
Oviatt Gilman LLP. If you are interested in having us represent you, please
call us at (585) 987-2800; we will determine whether the matter is one for
which we are willing or able to accept professional responsibility. We will
not make this determination by e-mail communication. We may be required to
decline representation if it would create a conflict of interest with our
other clients. You should therefore not provide us with any confidential
information until after we have had an opportunity to determine whether
representing you would create a conflict of interest with any of our other
clients. Only when you receive an engagement letter from an attorney at
Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP, will you be our client, and we may then exchange
information freely. Click on the ok button to acknowledge that you
understand and agree with this notice.

Nothing is more critical to the success of a business than its personnel. A substantial portion of our practice is devoted to counseling employers with regard to personnel and human resource issues and assisting employers in their efforts to be in compliance with all Federal and State laws, rules and regulations.
Our attorneys review and analyze employers’ personnel practices and policies and help employers implement policies and procedures which improve productivity and performance and seek to prevent or diminish employment related claims.
We work with employers to recognize and effectively manage various employment situations including: issues involving hiring, promotion and termination decisions; accommodating disabled employees; discrimination and sexual harassment issues; drug and alcohol testing programs; affirmative action programs; and reductions in workforce.
When employment claims do arise, we seek to resolve those claims in the manner most beneficial and cost effective to the employer, whether that requires negotiation, arbitration or litigation.
Recognizing that employment issues often require immediate attention, we are committed to providing our clients with the highest level of service and are always accessible for immediate consultation.
