06-10-25 Colby E. Scott Sworn in at New York State Bar Admission Ceremony

Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP is proud to announce that Colby E. Scott, an Associate in our Litigation Department, was officially sworn in to the New York State Bar today. Having already been a valued member of our litigation team, this milestone marks an important step in Colby’s professional journey.
Colby focuses his practice on commercial litigation and appellate work, applying his keen analytical skills to help clients navigate complex legal challenges. He is a graduate of Penn State Law, where he earned his J.D. cum laude. Further, Colby served as the Admissions and Research Editor on the Penn State Law Arbitration Law Review.
During law school, he was a teaching assistant for Clinical Professor of Law Jeffrey R. Erickson, contributed to a leading legal treatise, and completed a judicial externship with the Hon. Kim R. Gibson in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He earned CALI Awards in both International Arbitration and Professional Responsibility. His article "Digital Hearings – In Arbitration and Litigation" can be found in Volume 15 of the Arbitration Law Review.
Originally from Kingston, Rhode Island, Colby also spent time living in Palmer, Alaska. He first joined Woods Oviatt as a summer associate and was drawn to the firm’s strong culture, high-caliber work, and commitment to mentorship.
